Fishing is a profession that allows players to reel in fish and other items using a fishing rod and bait. Different fishing spots and catch qualities provide different rewards.

General Information

Fishing Spots

Fishing spots are located wherever a fishing icon appears on the map. At each fishing spot, characters can interact with either a Small School of Fish or a School of Fish.

A character displaying a caught fish.

Fishing requires a fishing rod, suitable bait, and at least one empty inventory slot.

Icon Fishing Spot Possible Rewards
Small School of Fish Small School of Fish Grey, white, and green-quality items, as well as Miracle Cubes
School of Fish School of Fish Grey, white, green, blue, and orange-quality items, as well as Miracle Cubes

To begin fishing, right-click the fishing icon and select the fishing option that appears. The character will cast a line and wait for a bite. Once a fish bites, the player can choose between manual fishing and auto-fishing.

Certain fish only appear during specific periods and are found at golden or yellow fishing spots. These spots are associated with Fish Kings and require special bait obtained from orange-quality fish.

A small number of fish, such as the Lucky Fish, are exceptions associated with the Fishing tutorial quest. These fish appear only at designated spots outside the normal fishing spot range and can only be caught using bait provided by the quest NPC.

Fishing Equipment

The fishing equipment interface can be viewed through the character window by switching from Battle Gear to Prof. Gear. Dedicated equipment slots are provided for fishing rods and other pieces of fishing gear.

The Prof. Gear interface displays fishing equipment, fishing stats, and profession ranks.

Fishing rods are required to fish. Additional fishing equipment improves the character's fishing stats and ability to catch stronger fish.

Fishing Stats

The Fishing Gear interface displays the following stats:

Stat Effect
Durability Represents the strength of the equipped fishing gear
Rod Strength Determines how quickly the fish's Target Durability decreases
Line Strength Determines the width of the blue zone in the manual fishing interface
Reel Speed Affects control over the fishing indicator

Fishing Methods

Manual Fishing

Manual fishing opens a dedicated interface in which the player must control the fishing indicator. Hold or release the left mouse button to keep the moving indicator within the blue target area.

The interface tracks two forms of durability:

  • Target Durability represents the fish's endurance. The fish is caught when its Target Durability is fully depleted.
  • Fishing Gear Durability represents the condition of the character's fishing equipment during the catch. If it is fully depleted, the line breaks and the fish escapes.

The fishing bar contains three zones:

  • The blue zone is the target area. While the indicator remains within this zone, the fish's Target Durability decreases.
  • The red zone is a danger zone. While the indicator remains within this zone, Fishing Gear Durability decreases. Release the left mouse button to move the indicator toward the blue zone.
  • The yellow zone is a second danger zone. While the indicator remains within this zone, Fishing Gear Durability decreases and the fish recovers Target Durability. Hold the left mouse button to move the indicator toward the blue zone.
The manual fishing interface displays Target Durability, Fishing Gear Durability, and the fishing control bar.

Auto-Fishing

Auto-fishing, commonly referred to as AFK fishing, allows the character to continue fishing without player input. The character fishes automatically until it runs out of bait or has no remaining inventory space.

Auto-fishing has several limitations compared to manual fishing:

  • Orange and gold-quality fish cannot be caught, regardless of the equipped fishing gear.
  • Penguin Bandits do not appear.
  • Fishing EXP is not awarded. Fishing EXP is earned only through manual fishing.

Fish Kings

Fish Kings are gold-quality catches that appear at golden or yellow fishing spots during specific times. Unlike standard fish, they are not continuously available.

Catching a Fish King requires special bait obtained from orange-quality fish, as well as sufficiently strong fishing equipment. Fish Kings must be caught through manual fishing.

A successful Fish King catch has a chance to spawn Nebuchadnezzar, a rare type of Penguin Bandit.

Penguin Bandits

A Penguin Bandit.

Penguin Bandits are enemies of the Anglers Anonymous that may rarely appear after a successful manual catch. The type of Penguin Bandit that appears depends on the quality of the catch.

Defeated Penguin Bandits drop items that can be exchanged with Myrna in Navea.

Type Appearance Spawns From Drop
Penguin Bandit Purple Successful green-quality catch Bandit Token
Nymphey Pink Successful orange-quality catch Small Tea Flower
Nebuchadnezzar Blue Successful gold-quality Fish King catch Dagger
