Dungeons are repeatable instanced areas in which players complete combat objectives and defeat enemies or bosses. Depending on the dungeon, characters may enter alone, form a party, or use matchmaking to join other players.

Dungeons are accessed through the Dungeon Interface and are organized into categories according to their purpose, difficulty, and rewards. Some dungeons are connected to the main story, while others are optional activities unlocked through character progression.

General Information

Each dungeon takes place in an area separate from the surrounding overworld and from other active copies of the same dungeon. Dungeons may have character-level requirements, story requirements, entry limits, or other conditions that must be met before they become available.

Story-associated dungeons generally appear in the region connected to their corresponding quests. Other categories are accessed primarily through the Dungeon Interface after reaching their unlock requirements.

Dungeon Interface

The Dungeon Interface organizes dungeons into ten tabs. Choosing an entry displays its map, description, available modes, remaining entries, bosses, and highlighted rewards.

The Only suitable level Instances option hides entries outside the character's current level range. Locked entries remain visible when this option is disabled and display their level requirement in the Map List.

The Dungeon Interface displays dungeon categories, unlock requirements, entry limits, bosses, and available methods of entry.

Unlocking Dungeons

Dungeons unlock when the character reaches their required level. The Map List displays unavailable dungeons together with the level needed to unlock them.

Modes

Dungeons can provide one or more entry modes:

  • Solo dungeons are entered by one character.
  • Party dungeons are entered with other players through a premade party or matchmaking.
  • Normal and Hard versions may appear as separate entries for particular encounters.

Available modes are determined by the chosen dungeon.

Entries and Resets

The Dungeon List displays the number of entries already used and the maximum number currently available. Entry limits may be tracked separately between modes or versions of the same dungeon.

Reset schedules differ by category. Some dungeons reset several times per day, while others provide daily or otherwise limited entries. Certain interface descriptions state that the game must be restarted after the daily reset before renewed Party rewards are displayed correctly.

Some dungeons support additional entries through their associated entry tickets. Availability depends on the chosen dungeon and item.

Matchmaking

Party dungeons may support matchmaking. Choosing Matchmaking registers the character or their existing party and searches for additional eligible players.

Players may instead form a premade party before entering.

Rewards

Dungeon rewards vary by category, mode, and level. Common rewards include:

  • Character EXP and Specialization EXP
  • Equipment and Gold Weapons
  • Gold and Loyalty Points
  • Accessories, Secret Stones, and Masteries
  • Eidolon Keys, Key Fragments, and Eidolon development materials
  • Category-specific currencies and exchange items

Each dungeon description and its reward icons summarize the primary rewards. The corresponding Dungeon Map and Boss List may display additional rewards and bosses.
