Aura Kingdom: Allure of the Past ("AKAP") is a reimagination of Aura Kingdom Impact, an official remastered version of Aura Kingdom developed by X-Legend. The original game Aura Kingdom, also known as Fantasy Frontier Online, was released internationally in 2014 by Aeria Games. AKAP runs on independently developed server software and uses its own dedicated launcher.

Welcome to the vast land of Azuria! We hope that this can be a good starting point for envoys looking for the basics to get started!

Why Play AKAP

AKAP is a classic MMORPG at heart, with an open world to explore and Instances that can be tackled either solo or with a party. Its variety of Classes, character customization, and distinct skill rotations give players plenty of ways to shape how they play. At its core is the tried-and-true MMORPG loop: level your character, upgrade your gear, take on new and tougher challenges, and chase achievements alongside a growing community.

On top of that, Allure of the Past runs entirely on original server software built from the ground up. This gives its developers the freedom to rebuild outdated systems, fix long-standing issues, and create new features and content shaped by community feedback. With accelerated progression and a strictly play-to-win model free from pay-to-win items, AKAP offers a fresh take on Aura Kingdom, built around the community that has kept this decade-old IP alive.

Is AKAP Right For You?

Positives Negatives
  • F2P friendly
    • The game can be fully enjoyed without spending any money.
  • Active Development
    • Developers aren't dependent on official releases to be able to push updates.
  • Daily Incentives
    • There's always something to do, whether it's tackling an instance with friends, gearing up for future challenges, or simply hanging out in game.
    • Instances reset on a regular schedule (see Timers), rewarding the time and effort you put into your progression.
  • Active Knowledge Base
    • AKAP benefits from over a decade of accumulated Aura Kingdom knowledge, while dedicated players and staff actively create, update, and adapt resources for the server's current systems.
  • Time Investment
    • Like most classic MMORPGs, AKAP can become repetitive and require grinding, especially when it comes to improving equipment or pursuing specific drops.
  • Outdated or Conflicting Information
    • Many existing guides were written for Aura Kingdom Classic, while Impact introduced mechanical changes and AKAP further modifies Impact through custom balancing and system adjustments. As a result, it can be difficult to determine which information applies to AKAP.
    • Legacy resources from Classic and Impact may be outdated, incomplete, or lost to time, while AKAP-specific documentation is still being developed.
  • Work in Progress
    • Because AKAP runs on original server software, some features may contain bugs or not behave as expected.
    • Development is ongoing, with the team actively fixing issues and improving these systems over time.

After signing in, you can create up to two characters. Character creation allows you to select a class, customize your appearance, and choose between four character models: male, female, chibi male, or chibi female. Appearance options can be changed freely throughout the game. Unlike in Aura Kingdom Classic, Impact also allows you to switch classes, although doing so is subject to a cooldown.

Beginning Your Adventure

ඞඞඞඞඞ

Congratulations, you're ready to start your adventure in Azuria! After creating your character, you'll begin the Main Story. Early progression happens fast in AKAP, so your main priorities should be following the Main Story Questline ("MSQ"), learning how your class plays, and becoming familiar with the game's basic systems. You don't need to worry about optimizing your character yet.

Need help getting around? See Game Basics for an introduction to the controls, user interface, menus, achievements, and other systems.

Following the Main Story

See main article: Main Story
See also: World Map • Instances • Professions

The main story serves as the starting path through early progression, guiding you through new areas, game mechanics, and activities, while providing EXP, Gold, and equipment.

Because of AKAP's increased EXP rate, you may level considerably faster than the story expects. However, continuing the main questline is still important, as story progress unlocks additional overworld maps and their regional resources. These resources are used by professions such as cooking, mining, archaeology, fishing, and alchemy.

Unlike in Aura Kingdom Classic, Impact doesn't require you to unlock an instance's corresponding map before entering it. Instances unlock according to your character level and can be accessed directly through the instance interface.

By progressing through Main Story, you will unlock various side-system to name a few: Eidolon Infusions • Memory Fragments

Beginner Tip: Join an active guild!

The guild system unlocks at Level 10. Although much of AKAP can be played solo, it's an MMORPG at heart and is even more fun with friends! Joining a guild gives you a community to run dungeons with, ask questions, and meet new people! Many guilds welcome beginners, so don't feel intimidated about joining while you're still learning.

See Guilds for more information, or visit Guild Recruitment to find a guild currently recruiting!

Eidolons

See main article: Eidolons

Eidolons are companions that fight alongside your character and form one of Aura Kingdom's core systems. Each Eidolon has its own appearance, abilities, and buffs. Additional Eidolons can be collected through various methods throughout the game.

You'll be introduced to Eidolons as part of your starting adventure. Instead of trying to collect and develop every Eidolon at once, focus on learning the system and identifying those that complement your class and playstyle. This is especially important for free-to-play players, as spreading limited resources across too many Eidolons can slow your overall progression.

Beginner Tip: Focus your Eidolon resources!

Subclass

See main article: Classes

Upon reaching Level 40, you'll unlock the ability to choose a subclass, allowing you to equip its weapon and use its abilities alongside your primary class. You can choose one based on your preferred playstyle and any gaps you might want to fill, such as gaining additional sustain, increasing your damage output, or adding other forms of utility.

Your subclass choice is not permanent and can be switched after a cooldown, so feel free to experiment with different combinations and have fun! While some subclasses are considered more effective for certain builds or types of content, any subclass can support early progression. More optimized recommendations can be found in the individual class guides.

Early Progression

ඞඞඞඞඞ

Early progression happens fast in AKAP. Together with the main story, there are repeatable activities that provide many important resources throughout the game, such as EXP, Loyalty Points, and materials to continue advancing. You don't need to complete every available activity or min-max your equipment immediately. Instead, focus on learning the game's systems and saving resources for later progression.

Daily Activities

See main article: Daily Activities
See also: Fame Quests • Dimensional Hall • Temple of Eidolons • Timers

Daily Activities, commonly referred to as "dailies," are repeatable activities that refresh according to the game's reset schedule. During early progression, the most important dailies are Mirabelle Quests, Dimensional Hall, and Temple of Eidolons.

During early progression, prioritize Temple of Eidolons and your available Dimensional Hall entries, as these are the game's primary sources of Loyalty Points. Completing your available entries regularly will help you accumulate Loyalty Points for important progression items.

Activity Reward
Dimensional Hall Loyalty Points and EXP; allows three daily entries per level tier
Temple of Eidolons Loyalty Points and Eidolon-related rewards; allows one daily entry
Mirabelle Quests Loyalty Points, EXP, and guild contribution points; limited to five quests per day

Your routine will expand as you progress! Additional daily and time-gated activities become available later and are covered on the Advanced Player Guide.

Beginner Tip: Keep an eye on reset times!

Activities and instances refresh on different schedules. Check Timers to see what is currently available and plan your routine around the content you want to prioritize.

Currencies

See main article: Currency
See also: Item Mall • Paragon Table • Auction House

AKAP contains several currencies, each used in different shops and systems. The most relevant ones for new players are Gold and Silver, Loyalty Points ("LP"), Aeria Points ("AP"), and Bonus Points ("BP").

Currency Use
Silver and Gold The main in-game currency used for purchases, trading, and progression. 999 Silver is equivalent to 1 Gold.
Loyalty Points Earned through general gameplay and used in the Loyalty Shop.
Aeria Points A paid currency used in the Aeria Shop.
Bonus Points Earned by spending AP and used separately in the BP Shop.

Gold Gold is the primary currency of AKAP's player-run economy. It's used when trading directly with other players and when purchasing equipment, materials, and other items through the Auction House. Gold becomes increasingly valuable as you progress, so avoid spending large amounts on equipment that will quickly be replaced.

Loyalty Points Loyalty Points have several valuable uses, including scrolls, the Paragon Table, and other progression items. Because LP purchases compete with one another, consider what you want to prioritize before spending it.

Beginner Tip: Check the Loyalty Shop before its weekly reset! Evolutionary Beads and Oath Rings are important limited resources, so purchasing them regularly will help with progression.

Equipment

See main article: Equipment
See also: Crafting • Fortification

During early progression, gear obtained through the main story and instances should be enough to continue advancing. Because leveling happens quickly in AKAP, equipment will be replaced frequently, so there is no need to spend Gold or materials fortifying early pieces.

Equipment choices begin to matter more around Level 60, when harder instances and more valuable drops become available. Dungeon bosses drop Orange Equipment Boxes, which contain gear that can support you through much of the journey toward Level 80. Weapons and accessories may need more deliberate choices depending on your class and playstyle.

Beginner Tip

Don't worry about creating the perfect build during early progression! Learning which stats benefit your class is more valuable than investing in equipment you will soon replace.

Reaching Level 60

ඞඞඞඞඞ

With AKAP's increased EXP rate, main story, and repeatable activities, reaching Level 60 shouldn't take long. This is your first major progression milestone, marking the transition from the introductory story and systems into the broader game!

Congratulations, Envoy!

You've completed the early stage of your journey, but the challenges facing Azuria are only beginning. As the story's stakes rise, you'll encounter new threats, harder instances, and more ways to strengthen your character. From here, how you prepare for the journey ahead is up to you!
