Classes

In Aura Kingdom, a character's class determines their weapon, skills, and general combat playstyle. Each class offers a different combination of damage, survivability, range, mobility, and party utility. Classes are divided into three categories: Melee, Ranged, and Magic.

Upon reaching Level 40, players can select a subclass, gaining access to the weapon and skills of a second class.

Overview

From sturdy shields and enormous axes to enchanted grimoires and celestial instruments, Aura Kingdom offers a wide variety of classes for every kind of adventurer. Each class carries its own weapon, skills, and signature mechanics, giving it a distinct identity on the battlefield.

Although players select a class during character creation, they are not restricted to that choice. Every available class can be played on a single character, and switching classes retains the character's level.

Class Switching
After changing classes, players must wait for a cooldown before switching again.

Further progression in the game opens new possibilities within each class. At Level 40, players can select a subclass, gaining access to the weapon and skills of a second class. At Level 5, players unlock Weapon Specialization, offering two unique paths for each class that grant a new skill, enhance existing abilities, and provide passive bonuses.

Classes can be customized through equipment, subclasses, Envoy's Path choices, Weapon Specialization, and Infusions. Although this flexibility allows for many different builds, each class retains natural strengths that make it particularly suited to certain roles.

Class Management

Classes and their related systems are managed through the Skills window. The Class Skills tab displays the abilities of the currently selected Primary and Secondary classes, as well as any available special skills.

To change either class, select Change at the bottom of the Class Skills tab. The class-selection window contains two options:

The Class Skills tab displays the character's main class, subclass, and special skills.
  • Switch Main Weapon: Changes the character's main class.
  • Switch Sub Weapon: Changes the character's subclass after the system has been unlocked at Level 40.

Use Switch Main Weapon to change the main class.

Use Switch Sub Weapon to change the subclass.

Select a class from the list to preview its skills and description, then choose OK to confirm the change. The Swap Hands option exchanges the currently selected main class and subclass.

Additional class progression can be accessed from the tabs along the top of the Skills window, including Masteries and Weapon Specialization.

Class Types

Classes are divided into three categories according to their primary weapon and method of attacking: Melee, Ranged, and Magic. These categories describe how a class generally approaches combat.

Subclass

Upon reaching Level 40, players can select a subclass. A subclass grants access to the weapon and skills of a second class, allowing it to supplement the character's primary combat style.

Only one subclass can be active at a time, and it cannot be the same as the character's current main class. To use subclass skills, players must equip the corresponding weapon as their secondary weapon.

Main Class and Subclass

A subclass supplements the main class rather than functioning as a completely separate class. It grants access to the secondary class's skills and core mechanics, providing additional abilities and utility that can complement the character's primary playstyle.

However, subclass skills have longer cooldowns than they do when the same class is used as the main class, and Weapon Specialization upgrades apply only to the main class and not to the subclass.

Choosing a Subclass

Subclass choices are often used to complement a main class's natural strengths or provide something its usual kit lacks. Depending on the combination, a subclass may offer additional damage, healing, survivability, mobility, crowd control, or party utility.

There is no single subclass that is required for every class or build. Equipment, Envoy's Path choices, Weapon Specialization, Infusions, and the content being attempted can all affect which combination performs best. Players are encouraged to choose a subclass that supports their preferred playstyle.

Weapon Specialization

See main article: Weapon Specialization

Upon reaching Level 3, players unlock Weapon Specialization, a class-specific progression system that further develops a class's skills and playstyle. It can be accessed through the Weapon Specialization tab of the Skills window.

Every class has two Weapon Specialization paths, usually called Left Path and Right Path.

Each path has its own set of benefits, which generally include:

  • A new skill unique to the selected path
  • Improvements to two existing class skills
  • Passive bonuses to the character's stats
  • Additional abilities unlocked upon reaching Mastery Levels 30 and 60

Only one path can gain experience at a time. Weapon Specialization experience is earned by defeating enemies and bosses both inside and outside dungeons. Players can freely switch between paths, but experience gained by one path does not increase the other.

Weapon Specialization is tracked separately for every class. Although changing classes retains the character's regular level, the Weapon Specialization paths belonging to each class must be levelled individually. Both paths can eventually reach the maximum of Mastery Level 70.

These paths allow the same class to be developed in different directions, such as strengthening particular skills, improving utility, or supporting a different approach to combat.

Eidolon Infusion

See main article: Eidolon Infusions

Eidolon Infusions are an additional customization system that allows players to infuse class skills with effects associated with their Eidolons. Depending on the infusion selected, a skill may gain additional damage, healing, defensive benefits, or even change the element of a skill.

Infusions can help a class cover weaknesses or perform beyond its usual strengths, giving players more freedom when creating a build. For example, a damage-focused class may gain access to additional healing or survivability, while another class may use Infusions to strengthen its existing offensive or supportive abilities.

Detailed information about obtaining, unlocking, and applying individual Infusions can be found in the main Eidolon Infusions page.

Finding Your Playstyle

With every class available, choosing one doesn't have to be a permanent decision. Players are encouraged to experiment with different weapons, skills, and combat styles until they find the ones that feel most enjoyable.

Subclass combinations, Weapon Specialization paths, Eidolon Infusions, equipment, and other progression systems provide many ways to shape how a class performs. Whether protecting allies, supporting a party, or overwhelming enemies with damage, the best place to begin is with the class whose weapon and playstyle appeal to you most.
